Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies launches lucrative program to land the right talent on its team
PLYMOUTH, Mich., May 3, 2011 – In the battle for outstanding talent, Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies (Freudenberg-NOK) is leaving nothing to chance.
Freudenberg-NOK announced today it will pay individuals $1,000 if they refer an exceptional job applicant to the company and that applicant is ultimately offered and accepts a position with the organization. The unique offer, an extension of an existing referral program that encourages employees to recommend qualified job candidates, not only underscores the competitive nature of hiring great talent but highlights fundamental business strategies at Freudenberg-NOK.
“We invest in our people and our communities,” said Sarah O’Hare, vice president, Human Resources and Communications. “We understand that when a friend or neighbor refers a qualified job candidate to our company, they are acting as an ambassador for our organization, offering us access to an invaluable resource and publicly expressing confidence in our corporation as a good place to work. We appreciate that, we value that, and now, we want to reward that.”
Freudenberg-NOK, headquartered in Plymouth, Mich., is a leading producer of advanced sealing and elastomeric technologies for a variety of industries including automotive, aerospace, appliance, diesel engine, agriculture, construction, heavy industry, and alternate energy, among others. The company is a joint venture between Freudenberg and Company in Germany and NOK Corporation in Japan.
Like many manufacturing firms across the country, the company has seen a significant uptick in its employment over the past year as the U.S. economy has stabilized and recovered. Last year the company hired more than 100 employees in facilities throughout the Americas.
Freudenberg-NOK has established an international reputation for excellence with customers built upon its custom-engineered solutions, technology innovations, outstanding employees and dedication to quality, continuous improvement and customer service. The company has been awarded more than 1,000 patents since its inception in 1989, has state-of-the-art research and development and product testing laboratories and has manufacturing operations across the Americas.
The company also embraces guiding principles which include lifelong people and career development. Still, when it comes to finding qualified engineers or manufacturing operations experts, Freudenberg-NOK is not immune to the shortage of industrial talent that, of late, has challenged companies across regions and markets.
“We are looking for the best of the best – but so are our competitors,” said O’Hare. “We believe that once a candidate gets to know our organization and our culture, they will actively pursue a career with Freudenberg-NOK.
“But getting the word out that we are hiring and getting the right people through the door is challenging, and we think this incentive program will help us tap into the most knowledgeable recruiters available – those people who live and work in our communities.”
Referrals must be made for open, salaried positions at Freudenberg-NOK. Referral payments will be made no more than 30 days following the one-month anniversary of a hired candidate. Self-referrals are not eligible for the incentive payment.
Open employment positions are posted on the Freudenberg-NOK website at www.freudenberg-nok.com. Details about the company’s referral program are also available on the site under news releases on the news page.
